Do you stock 'Ideal' cut and 'Hearts & Arrows' diamonds? “There have been numerous claims to a single set of ‘Ideal’ proportions in round brilliant-cut diamonds…..... and on the basis of our research we cannot recommend the use of this term in modern times” William E Boyajian, President, GIA in an article in Gems & Gemology, Fall 1998 There is no internationally accepted standard definition for 'Ideal' cut stones. Rather, there are many combinations of proportions with equal or higher light return values than so-called ‘Ideal’ cuts. Most of the round diamonds we stock are perfectly made and fall into the “Excellent” or “Very Good” classification according to the GIA Cut Grade introduced since 1 January 2006; this new Cut Grade is an accurate measure of a diamond’s brilliance. The HRD Gem Lab has a Cut Grade classification which is similar and is an equally accurate measure of a diamond’s brilliance. Where can I view and buy the special cuts listed on your website in my country of residence? There may be a distributor of the Criss cut - depending on the country and city of your residence. In general, these special cuts would be available at many reputed jewellers in the United States, many parts of Europe and the United Kingdom, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Hong Kong and, of course, from us in the Far East. Our distributorship agreement with our Principals prohibits us from offering for sale the special cuts in certain territories, so we would need to know your physical location before we could make you an offer. For example, if you are located in the United States, we are unable to sell you the Criss ®cut. We can, of course, sell you any of our other products.
